I have long hair on my shoulder. Recently I've been working on umrah. I tied my hair up so it looked more neat. While walking with friends at Nabawi Mosque, I was scolded by an officer on duty for tying my hair and directing me to release the bond. Can ustaz explain why I was told to do so.
Answer:
In the Book of Mukhtasar Shamail Tirmizi there is a discussion about the hair of Rasullullah S.A.W. In the scripture there is a mention that Rasullullah usually has long hair and it is illegal for men to wear braids (tie hair) like women.
Rasullullah has cursed the man who did it, trying to look like a woman. So, it's not allowed for men to wear braids (hair) like women.
So, it's clear here that the officers at the Nabawi Mosque are prohibiting you from doing such illegal acts Hopefully here is the reader's conference can clearly understand this question.
